EPIC 2014 Update
Museum of Media History ∙ 2014
In November 2004 Robin Sloan and Matt Thompson released the movie "EPIC 2014". The film popularized the term Googlezon and touches on major privacy and copyright issues raised at the time. The movie explored the effects that the convergence of popular News aggregators, such as Google News, with other Web 2.0 technologies like blogging, social networking and user participation may have on journalism and society at large.
10 years later the Museum of Media History reincarnated in Berlin, West Germany. When I realised that the future Robin and Matt had predicted didn’t match the future that had happend, I had to produce an updated version to draw a more accurate picture the year 2014.
